Regular walking has been proven to cut the risks of many illnesses in a way that does not involve pills, prescriptions or money.
Hertfordshire year of walking is co-ordinated by Hertfordshire’s County Council’s countryside management Service and you can join in themed, guided walks offered Walks and More or join Hertfordshire Health Walks in Potters Bar or Borehamwood.
The Walks are free, led and local. There are no requirements to be fit, though walking shoes are recommended.
Potters Bar has its own Health Walk Programme offering 3 walk levels. These are:
No need to book, just turn up on the day and join in.
The walks end with refreshments and chat, so as well as the health benefit, these groups offer friendship and other social activities.
