Antenatal care is the help and care you receive from health professionals during the course of your pregnancy. It is important you take good care of your own health and that of your unborn baby during pregnancy.
As soon as you find out you are pregnant, you should make an appointment with a GP who will refer you to the midwife for a booking appointment and inform you of the services available to you.
You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the hospital, or both.
